Talk about a tough decision! We’ve spent the last few weeks reviewing the FORGE Your Dot Org 2011 applications. The more we research the different nonprofits’ causes and what they’re doing about it, the more we want to pick everybody. While we don’t have enough time, resources, or deep enough pockets to do that, we do have the ability to at least mention some of the very worthy causes here. In the weeks to come, we’ll do profiles of a few of the nonprofits that really captured our attention:
- The Fraternal Order of Police Foundation
- Cleveland City Dance Company
- Energize Clinton County
- Breakthrough Charter Schools
And now for the three finalists:
- Youth Advocate Services
- Legal Aid Society
- American Council of the Blind of Ohio
We have met with all three nonprofits this week, and we’ll be announcing the finalist next week. So stay posted to see who the FYDO 2011 recipient will be.

We can hardly believe it either––it’s already December. That means today is the last day we will be accepting applications for FORGE Your Dot Org 2011. You have until 5:00 p.m. so go ahead and complete an application.

Applications are now open for FORGE Your Dot Org 2011. We’ll give you an idea of what the application is like: there are 6 sections and roughly 40 questions. We know that’s a lot, but we take our selection process very seriously and all of those questions play a part in that process. So make sure you save as you go along––in case you get interrupted. When you save, we’ll send you an email with a link for you to pick up where you left off.
The applications are due by December 1st at close of business (5:00), so fill yours out as soon as you can!

In 2009, we launched our first ever FORGE Your Dot Org campaign (affectionately referred to as FYDO around FORGE headquarters). We were overwhelmed by the responses we received and, after choosing to work with Homefull (formerly The Other Place) in 2010, we have realized that FYDO is a must for 2011.
As discussed in this blog, we’ve had a successful year with Homefull and have been touched by their team of people dedicated to their mission of ending homelessness. So, we are thrilled to announce that we will accept applications for FYDO 2011 beginning November 1st, 2010. It’s our way of giving back to a vibrant Ohio, because, we don’t just love working here––we love living here too!
